Channel Points: An easy way to engage with your audience

The cycle of support between creators and their fans is one of the awesome things that makes Twitch, Twitch. And today, with the launch of Channel Points, it’s more fulfilling than ever before to be a part of a community.

Channel Points is a new way for creators to recognize and reward their community members with points for watching, following, subscribing, and taking other actions on their channel. You may have already seen Channel Points on Twitch as we’ve been in early access. Today, we’re excited to roll it out to all partners and affiliates.

As a viewer, you can use points to temporarily unlock tier 1 emotes (giving you a taste of benefits usually reserved for subscribers), highlight your messages in chat, and a lot more. Basically, the more you do, the more you can do.

As a creator, you don’t need to do anything to get started. Channel Points has already been enabled for your channel and your viewers will start earning points immediately. You can customize your program from your dashboard - change the name, modify icons, and add custom rewards.

You can also manage default rewards on the Channel Points dashboard. We’ve included recommended costs for each default reward, but you can also turn on Smart Costs to automatically adjust your default rewards costs based on the size of your audience and the redemption rate of your rewards. This way, you won’t have to worry about updating your rewards costs as your audience grows.

Curious to learn more? Watch the video below to hear creators talk about  how Channel Points have helped them. We’ve also created the Making the Most of Channel Points guide, which includes artwork you can use to customize your rewards.

As a special bonus, creators who give their program its own unique name, personalize their points display, and create a custom reward by January 31, 2020, will get a chance to win some Twitch swag.

Any other questions? We’ve (probably) got your answer over at the Channel Points help article.
